Frame Image Requirements
A Frame campaign relies on transparency so that a supporter’s photo can be placed behind your design. Therefore, the image you upload must meet specific technical requirements to work correctly.
Required Specifications
- File Format: MUST be
.png. (JPG/JPEG and WEBP are rejected because they do not support true transparency). - File Size: Maximum 5 MB.
- Transparency Minimum: Your image must have at least 5% transparent pixels. The transparency is what creates the “cutout” for the supporter’s photo.
- Aspect Ratio: A 1:1 (Square) aspect ratio is highly recommended for the best display across social media profile pictures.
Common Mistakes
The most frequent reason a frame upload fails is a white background.
When exporting your design from tools like Canva, Photoshop, or Figma, ensure you export with the “Transparent Background” option checked. If the area meant for the supporter’s face is solid white or black, the platform will reject it.
We automatically check for transparency during upload using our internal validation system. If your frame doesn’t pass, the system will tell you exactly how much transparent area it detected so you can adjust your design.
