How to Build a Branded Photo Background Campaign
Design a reusable photo card with artwork behind the portrait, publish a Background campaign, and test the layout on web and mobile.
A branded photo background campaign gives people a shared canvas for their own pictures. Unlike a transparent frame that sits above a portrait, a Background campaign places the artwork underneath the whole photo. It is useful for announcement cards, community introductions, and event participation graphics.
The key design constraint is that the source photo keeps its original background. Plan for a visible rectangular photo rather than an automatically cut-out person.
Start with a layout that contains the photo#
For a fictional community workshop, try this brief: “A square card with a portrait panel on the left and ‘I'm joining Community Workshop Week’ on the right.” Add the organization logo in an area the photo will not cover.
Leave enough room for the whole photo panel. If the background headline runs behind it, some supporters will hide the wording when they zoom. A simpler panel layout is easier to use with different portraits.
Prepare the headline, colors, and logos in your design tool before uploading. Framvo's photo editor adjusts the source photo's placement; it does not expose the background's text or graphic layers for editing.
Choose dimensions for the intended destination#
A square is practical for a feed card, while a landscape rectangle can suit an announcement banner. A portrait layout can reserve space above or below a photo. These are layout choices, not automatic delivery presets for each social platform.
Test the finished image where it will be used. A rectangular announcement card may lose its headline if selected as a circular profile picture. Use a separate Frame campaign when a profile portrait is the main goal.
Framvo accepts PNG, JPG, JPEG, or WebP Background artwork up to 5 MB. Transparency is not required. If you deliberately leave transparent artwork areas uncovered by the photo, those areas can remain transparent in the PNG output.
Publish the Background campaign#
- Sign in and create a Background campaign.
- Upload your artwork or choose an appropriate starter.
- Add a representative preview photo and position it above the design.
- Check that the intended photo size leaves your headline readable.
- Add the campaign details and publish a clear link.
Use a preview photo you have permission to publish. Avoid using a highly cropped professional portrait if you expect supporters to choose ordinary phone photos; an unrepresentative preview can make the layout look easier than it is.
Test with a second photo and another device#
Try one narrow portrait and one wider image. Adjust both using the published campaign, not only the creator preview. If either photo hides important text, move that text in the original artwork and republish the appropriate design before launch.
The web export uses the artwork's dimensions. The current mobile app exports the artwork's aspect ratio within a PNG up to 1080 pixels on the longest edge. Check web and mobile differences before promising a specific pixel size.
Also save the result and find it on the device. Use the download guide if the browser file is in Downloads rather than Photos.
Explain the action in your invitation#
A concise instruction is enough:
Make your [event or community] photo card at [campaign link]. Choose your photo, move it into the portrait area, and save the finished image. Share it with your own caption and find the full details at [information link].
Give people the campaign link so they can make their own result. A screenshot of the finished card is useful as a preview, but it does not replace the reusable campaign page.
